The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr Dennis Otuaro, has called on Niger Delta residents to support the South South All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders’ decision to adopt President Bola Tinubu as their sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Dr Otuaro spoke in Abuja on Tuesday during an interview with journalists, where he described the move by APC governors and leaders as a “reward for a sincere and committed leader” who has shown practical love for the region.

On July 5, APC leaders from Edo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States met in Benin and unanimously endorsed Tinubu’s reelection bid. They praised the President’s efforts to strengthen development in the South South through strategic appointments and projects.
“The President has proved beyond doubt his love and dedication to the Niger Delta,” Otuaro said, citing initiatives such as the Maritime University at Okerenkoroko, the Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland, and the South South Development Commission.
He also highlighted Tinubu’s approval of big-ticket projects like the Lagos-Calabar Expressway and increased support for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Amnesty Programme.

“I urge the South South and Niger Delta people to embrace the informed position of APC leaders to attract more development through a listening leader,” Otuaro said.
He warned youths in the region not to allow themselves to be manipulated by desperate politicians, insisting Tinubu’s administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda has delivered for the oil-rich zone.
“What this President deserves is our continued support and contribution to his reelection in 2027,” he added.
