A 25-year-old man, Abdulraman Rabiu, has allegedly stabbed his cousin, Adamu Abubakar, to death during a violent altercation in the North Bank area of Makurdi, Benue State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at Lafia Garage, sparking panic in the area.
A source familiar with the matter told DAILY POST, “The suspect stabbed his 35-year-old cousin, Adamu Abubakar, during a physical altercation between them.”

Following the stabbing, an enraged mob descended on the suspect and beat him severely before security operatives intervened.
“After the incident, an angry mob attacked the suspect and beat him severely before he was rescued and taken to Divine Love Hospital, Low Level, Makurdi, for medical attention,” the source added.
Both the suspect and the victim were rushed to the same hospital, where Adamu was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.

The Benue State Police Command confirmed the incident, adding that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
