A certain male 400-level student of the University of Cross River State, Calabar has been reportedly shot dead.
It was alleged that the yet to be properly identified student was murdered by Department of State Service, DSS agents.
Reports held that the incident forced students to scamper for safety when a team of soldiers and other security personnel arrived at the school while the corpse is still lying on the ground.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Chief Security Office (CSO), Mr Iwara referred newsmen to the school Public Relations Officer, Mr Onen Onen, saying he was not around.
The PRO Onen confirmed the incident but said he can not ascertain whether or not the student was killed by the DSS.
Onen however stated that investigations were ongoing.
He said:
“I wouldn’t know who shot him, I wasn’t there. When it happened and I can’t say categorically; investigations are ongoing.”
