The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has emerged the flag bearer of the party ahead of the governorship election in Imo State.
Anyanwu’s emergence followed the conclusion of the PDP primary election held on Wednesday at the party’s secretariat along Okigwe Road in Owerri, the state capital.
A seven-man electoral panel constituted by the PDP National Working Committee headed by Kenneth Okon was present to monitor the governorship primaries in Imo.

Anyanwu is expected to challenge the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Hope Uzodimma.
Off-cycle governorship elections are expected to hold in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo states on November 11, 2023.
