The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dished zoning arrangements for the 10th National Assembly leadership positions.

According to the APC, it was yet to zone any position of the incoming National Assembly’s leadership to any of the country’s six geopolitical zones.

The statement comes amidst growing concerns that the party may have already made decisions regarding the leadership positions of the incoming National Assembly.

However, the party has assured Nigerians that it would follow due process and ensure that all positions are filled based on merit and competence.

The party called on Nigerians to disregard any information regarding zoning arrangements for the 10th National Assembly leadership positions that are not officially released by the party, saying it remains committed to ensuring that the leadership positions of the incoming National Assembly are filled based on the principles of fairness, equity, and justice.

The statement, signed by the APC national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, on Thursday, titled, ‘APC has yet to zone 10th National Assembly leadership positions’ read:

The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to versions of zoning arrangements for the 10th National Assembly leadership positions in circulation in sections of social media. The information did not emanate from the Party and should be disregarded.

“To be clear, the Party has yet to zone positions of leadership of the 10th National Assembly. Any decisions made in that regard will be duly communicated via the Party’s official information channels.”
