Strike: ASUU Tells Students to Prepare For Resumption

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has encouraged students across the country to prepare for resumption from Wednesday next week following its over eight months strike.

The Union stated this in a tweet via its official Twitter page towards on Saturday, expressing hope of an agreement with the federal government.

ASUU exercised optimism that students and lecturers will return to universities next week upon conclusion of its meeting with the federal government officials.

The tweet read: “ All Federal University students should prepare for resumption as we expect a positive outcome from ASUU on Wednesday.”

The optimism expressed by the Union is coming a day after the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, expressed the hope that there will be an agreement with the Union next week.

The minister however, lamented the lack of consideration displayed by ASUU in their demands from the government.
