The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, will be welcoming his sixth wife, Opeoluwa Akinmuda, into his Royal Palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Saturday, May 20.
According to the palace spokesman, Moses Olafare clarified that Akinmuda was not Ooni’s new wife.
He stressed that the Yoruba monarch married her in 2022, but she had been residing abroad.

The Thanksgiving ceremony would be attended by dignitaries from across the country, and it was expected to be a grand affair.
Olafare said:
“There is nothing like latest wife; Dr Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda has been (Ooni’s) his wife since last year. The wedding took place last year right after Olori Mariam’s.
“She was not based in Nigeria; she was based abroad. What is happening this weekend is thanksgiving ceremony in line with cultural tradition, a formal traditional rite that will usher her into the palace.”
