A Labour Party (LP) representative for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Hon Ekene Abubakar Adams has given communities and individuals in his district ten (10) 500KVA transformers, as well as automobiles and motorcycles

In addition, Adams who has only been in office for a month, gave one hundred and fifty thousand naira each to 66 ward chairmen’s wives from Chikun/Kajuru, who were from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and LP.

It was learnt that the sixty-six ward chairmen received an undisclosed sum of money.

In a side conversation with reporters, the Lawmaker revealed following complaints he received from various communities regarding their challenges during his campaign, particularly the challenge of power, in which he promised to assist them, a promise he claimed he was fulfilling the Lawmer said the gesture was part of his personal project, not a constituency project.

As a philanthropist turned politician, the LP representative emphasized that he believed in making a positive impact on people’s lives and that he will do more for the people as long as they support him in his efforts to represent them.

In response to the justification for empowering members of opposing political parties, he said:

“As a leader, there is a need to carry everybody along. Political campaigns are over. It’s time to work. When you carry everybody along, nobody will pull you down but when you decide to go alone, opposition will kick in and as a result you begin to have problems.”

He added that he would carry on his predecessor Rt Hon Umar Yakubu Barde’s good legacies and correct his mistakes.

The LP Rep Member stressed that he would meet with Barde to discuss any unfinished projects and, if given permission, would see to their completion.
