EFCC Arrests Fake Senator Into Internet Fraud | Daily Report Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a fake Senator Ifechukwu Tom Makwe.

Makwe was nabbed based on credible intelligence about his internet-related fraudulent activities in the Gusape area of Abuja.

According to the EFCC, he successfully defrauded his victim of about five million, seven hundred thousand euros (€5.7m) since he started the illicit business by using several names.

Some of the names were (Fahad Makwe, Senator Tompolo, Tom Makwe, and Dr Bren).

The suspect has reportedly been defrauding the victim since first meeting them on social media in 2013.

He once claimed to be a member of the United States, US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and diplomatic lawyer.

The Commission stated the suspect will be brought to court after the investigation.
