A woman identified as Nneamaka Nwosu has been arrested by the police in Anambra State for allegedly setting a policewoman and her two children ablaze at Nnokwa, Idemili South Local Government Area of the State.
DAILY REPORT NIGERIA gathered that the suspect, who hails from Amawbia, became homeless after she got divorced from her husband.
She was said to have approached the policewoman who out of pity offered to accommodate her until she is able to secure an apartment.

It was further said that on that fateful day, the lady had an altercation with the policewoman, which led to a fight. The suspect hit the policewoman on the head with a pestle and she fell and became unconscious.
She immediately tied the policewoman and her two kids together with a rope inside their room and set them ablaze.
The suspect, when apprehended, claimed that it was a gas cylinder that exploded while the woman and her children were boiling hot water. But after much interrogation, she confessed to the crime and attributed it to the handiwork of the devil.

“I did not know what came over me that made me commit the crime. I deserve to be shot dead for this wicked act against the person who helped me in my time of need,” she said.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, while confirming the incident said the bodies of the policewoman and her children have been deposited at the morgue.
“Preliminary information reveals that the woman police accommodated the suspect while she was searching for a house.
“The two women had a disagreement which resulted in a fight before the suspect hit the woman police on her head with pestle. While she became unconscious, she tied her with her two kids and set them ablaze.
“The bodies of the victims have been recovered and deposited in the morgue. Further development shall be communicated.” he said
