The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah said Nigeria witnessed the worst period of corruption during the recent administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kukah made the statement during a keynote speech at the 60th anniversary of legal icon, Aare Afe Babalola, in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.

The cleric pointed out that corruption did not begin during Buhari’s reign, but rather his administration exaggerated it morally and financially.

Kukah lemented that Nigeria shared the sovereignty guaranteed by the constitution with bandits and other terrorists.

The pastor expressed his concern that Nigerians were already being held hostage by those who threaten the very existence of our democracy and our country.

He believed that many Nigerians have lost faith in the judiciary.

According to him, the judiciary was victim like any other institution in Nigeria going through a crisis.
