Members of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) have demanded for N200,000 as minimum wage from the government.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that members of Organized Labour commenced a nationwide strike on Wednesday following the removal of fuel subsidy.
The protesters converged at the popular Ikeja under-bridge in Lagos State before commencing the march.
Labour had issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government with threats of a scheduled nationwide strike.

In a protest video monitored by our correspondent, the protesters were seem with varying inscriptions such as ‘Let The Poor Breath’, which has become a nationwide slogan in recent times.

Speaking in the video, a protesters lamented that the cost of living has gone up since the removal of subsidy, adding that people are dying out of hunger.
He said, “The cost of living is very high and people are dying every day.
“We have decided to go to Abuja to discuss with the government constructively by tendering our charter of demands which includes the national minimum wage to be put forward as N200,000, the four refineries must work and Labour to be part of the supervisory committee.”
