Moises Caicedo has a strong preference for Chelsea and is expected to turn down Liverpool’s approach, as the Blues prepare to break their transfer record for an audacious swoop.

Caicedo

  • Caicedo’s sole preference is Chelsea
  • Liverpool’s staggering £110 million bid, a British record
  • Blues gearing up for a fresh offer to secure Caicedo

Chelsea is ready to elevate their proposal for Moises Caicedo, disrupting Liverpool’s £110 million deal, as the player’s desire is solely to align with the Blues.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Caicedo’s heart is set on a Chelsea move, as he had previously reached personal terms with the club.

In a surprising turn of events, The Guardian reports that Chelsea is ready to increase their bid for Caicedo, attempting to outmanoeuvre Liverpool’s £110 million agreement with Brighton.

The Seagulls had declined Chelsea’s initial £100 million offer.

In a late twist, it now appears highly likely that Caicedo will be donning Chelsea’s colours, rather than joining Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

After contemplating Chelsea’s renewed pursuit of his signature, Caicedo experienced “second thoughts” about his intended transfer to Anfield, as reported by Sky Sports.

Klopp

Despite a scheduled visit to Liverpool for contract discussions and a medical examination, Caicedo and his associates chose to remain in London, deliberating over his future course.

Chelsea’s keen interest in Caicedo underscores their determination to bolster the core of their team, particularly following the departures of Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.

Chelsea

Notably, Chelsea also submitted a bid for Romeo Lavia, a player on Klopp’s radar.

Italian sources mention that Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti is also on Chelsea’s list of potential targets.

It seems highly probable that Caicedo will now link up with Chelsea if they match or surpass Liverpool’s offer.

There are reports suggesting that he might not be available for Sunday’s Premier League clash, a fixture that has gained additional significance due to the tussle for Caicedo’s services.
