The Belgian striker’s decision to reject a return to Inter and appear to seal a deal with Juventus left a sour impression on Beppe Marotta.

Expressing his disappointment, Inter Milan’s director Marotta commented on Romelu Lukaku’s choice to turn down a return to the club and reportedly accept an offer from Juventus.

Speaking on Radio Serie A, Marotta discussed Inter’s transfer strategies during the Monday morning interview.

Referring to the unsuccessful Lukaku transfer, he noted,

“There are targets you expect to secure, but sometimes they don’t materialize.”

Addressing the Lukaku situation, he stated,

“I can only express that Lukaku’s departure was incredibly disappointing.”

Uncertain about Lukaku’s next destination, Marotta remarked,

“His future is unclear; few options remain, and I doubt he’ll come back to Italy.

With Joaquin Correa’s impending departure from San Siro, Inter is eager to bolster their offensive capabilities for the upcoming season.

Despite Inter’s interest, their targets Lazar Samardzic and Gianluca Scamacca opted to sign with other Serie A teams, namely Udinese and Atalanta.

Regarding Correa’s situation, Marotta emphasized, “Correa desires playing time, and we won’t overlook that fact.”
