Hon. Spencer Okpoye, Commissioner representing Ijaw ethnic nationality on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC), has expressed immense joy and pride as the state commemorates a significant milestone – the 32nd anniversary of the creation of Delta State.

In a heartfelt address to the people of Deltans on Sunday via his official Facebook page, Okpoya said;

“This day marks not just the passage of time, but a tapestry woven with the threads of progress, unity, and shared aspirations. Three decades and two years ago, Delta State was carved out with a vision of growth, development, and empowerment.

“Over the years, we have transformed this vision into a living reality through your hard work, determination, and a spirit that refuses to be daunted by challenges.

“Our achievements in sectors ranging from agriculture and commerce to education and technology have not only shaped the state’s identity but have also contributed significantly to the growth of our great nation.”

As the celebrations marked 32 years of accomplishments, Hon. Okpoye encouraged the citizens to embrace the challenges ahead with unity and determination.

“Challenges will inevitably arise, but the unity and determination that have carried you through the past decades will undoubtedly lead you to even greater heights,” he added.

In his concluding remarks, Hon. Okpoye extended heartfelt congratulations to every individual who calls Delta State home.

“Our resilience, our dreams, and our dedication are the building blocks of a brighter future for generations to come. Let us continue to work hand in hand, across communities and cultures, to write the next chapter of Delta State’s success story.”
