Man Butchers Father Over Plantain in Ogun | Daily Report Nigeria

Ifeanyichukwu Anadike, a 38-year-old man from Imo State, has killed his father over a plantain tree.

The incident occurred in the Olorunda community, Ijoko, Sango, Ogun State.

The motive behind the gruesome act was believed to be a financial dispute.

Anadike had entrusted his father with N70,000, but his father allegedly refused to return the money, leading to a conflict.

The confrontation escalated when Anadike argued with his father over a plantain tree in their backyard, resulting in his father threatening to cut it down.

In a horrifying turn of events, Anadike attacked his father with a cutlass, leading to his father’s tragic death.

He said:

“I gave him N70,000, but he refused to return it to me. I wanted to use the money to start a business, but he refused to give it to me and threatened to cut down the plantain tree.

”So, I just picked up a cutlass and started hitting him in the head.”

The Ogun State Police Command subsequently arrested the suspect.
