Reigning African Footballer of The Year, Victor Osimhen has been expectedly listed to lead the Super Eagles attack at the forthcoming African Cup of All Nations, AFCON 2024.

DAILY REPORT NIGERIA reports that Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, announced a final 25-man squad for the showpiece billed for Cote’d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024.

Nigerian will face Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau in Group A.

The Portuguese had earlier unveiled a 40-man provisional squad, including three goal-keepers from the local league.

However, Peseiro has called on the services of Ahmed Musa, and Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabili.

Nwabili, who is drafted in to solve the team’s goalkeeping crisis is joined by long-standing first-choice, Francis Uzoho.

The duo are joined by Enyimba FC goal-stopper, Leke Ojo who is the only home-based player in the squad.

The return of captain, Musa is expected to raise eyebrows from fans who believe his time in the team has elapsed.

A-side Musa, Vice-Captain William Troost-Ekong, is also back in contention after missing recent games over a reported fallout with Peseiro.
