Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has provided updates on injuries ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Arsenal.

John Stones and Kyle Walker sustained injuries while on international duty with England, forcing them to leave the pitch prematurely. As a result, both players were unable to participate in City’s training session on Thursday and will not be eligible for selection in the upcoming match against Arsenal.

“Injuries. Ederson is much, much better. Kyle and John are out.

“It is what it is,” Guardiola told reporters for Friday.

He added: “We played really good over the last month, the first game after the international break, you think about what will happen. We trained well yesterday and prepared for the game.

“Akanji is ok [to play against Arsenal.]”
