BREAKING: FG to Begin Audit for Ways and Means Debt | Daily Report Nigeria

The Federal Government has decided to audit its N23 trillion Ways and Means debt.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun made the announcement during the ongoing Public Wealth Management Conference organized by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated.

Edun revealed that the Federal Government aims to reduce its reliance on future Ways and Means indebtedness.

Therefore, the Minister said, they plan to introduce a bill to the National Assembly.

He explained that the bill will authorize the removal of all taxes and levies that are considered a nuisance from the country’s tax system.

The Minister added that the government is committed to implementing policies that will enable it to generate real-time revenue from Government Owned Enterprises and Corporate entities.
