Victor Boniface couldn’t hide his happiness after finally getting back onto the field following a three-month spell on the sidelines due to injury.
Having undergone surgery for an adductor injury back in January, Victor Boniface had to patiently wait for his chance to return to action. His moment finally arrived last week when he made his first appearance of the year in Bayer Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Then, in Leverkusen’s UEFA Europa League match against West Ham United on Thursday night, the striker came off the bench and made an immediate impact by finding the back of the net. This goal marked his fifth in just six appearances in the competition for Die Werkself this season.
