Gary Neville, the former Manchester United defender, has praised Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, saying he is the best midfielder “in his position” ahead of the Gunners’ Premier League match against Tottenham on Sunday.
Odegaard has had an outstanding season with 11 goals and nine assists in all competitions, and his recent performance in Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Chelsea on Tuesday showcased his skill once again.
Gary Neville commended the 25-year-old Norway captain, stating that he is currently the standout player in his midfield role. Reflecting on Arsenal’s overall performance, Neville said on his podcast, “They were very good, excellent in fact. They were outstanding in that first 25 minutes against Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago, some of the football.”

He continued, highlighting Odegaard’s exceptional play: “Odegaard is mesmerising at the moment. I think he’s become the best in that position in terms of the way in which he plays.”
