Hopes were rekindled among electorates on monday following the declaration of interest by Benedict Akposafagha Seimode to contest the chairmanship position for Burutu Council Area, Delta State.

Seimode, accompanied by members of his campaign traim and teeming supporters, declared his intention to contest the much coveted office before the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Burutu.

Speaking on behalf of the Seimode campaign train, Sam Ikporukpo introduced the aspirant as “an over qualified technocrat with appropriate expertise to transform Burutu.”

Continuing, Ikporukpo made a case for Seimode as the best among several other aspirants jostling for the seat from Ward 11, the only ward yet to produce a Chairman since the inception of Burutu Council.

“There are several other aspirants vying for this office from the same Ward 11, but I present you the best amongst all by a mile in Seimode,” Ikporukpo said.

Addressing the Party, Seimode rolled out a dossier of expertise as a technocrat, grassroot politician, and firsthand knowledge of what Burutu needs to be transformed.

The erstwhile Special Assistant to the Delta Statw Government on Project Monitoring listed infrastructure, peace, agriculture, and security among key areas his administration will prioritize if elected.

“Today is not a day of many words, but I assure you that the the right expertise and knowledge to transform our dear Council is embedded in me,” Seimode said.

“Judging from our bountiful resources, Burutu deserves more than it has right now, and more is what I guarantee you when I come into power,” he added.

Responding to the aspirant, the Burutu PDP described Seimode as a known face whose antecedents can be counted and verified.

The Burutu PDP Youth Leader, Hon Peremobowei Amakama, listed “uprightness and trustworthiness” as atrributes Seimode can be judged with, adding that the aspirant ticks all the boxes of the sort of “candidate Burutu deserves” for better.

Also speaking, the Burutu PDP Chairman, Lawson Ogei, commended the aspirant for his steadfastness in pursung the party’s progress over the years.

“I have absolute confidence that you have nothing but good inentions for Burutu people. It is my our prayer that what you seek, you shall find, “Ogei concluded.

On the other hand, youths, women, and elders of the Burutu Council Area expressed hope in the candidacy of Seimode as they declared support for his aspiration.

The Delta 2024 local government polls are billed for July 13 following an announcement by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC.
