A Niger Delta youth leader, Comrade Emsi Romeo has called on President Bola Tinubu to disregard calls by ‘faceless groups’ against the appointment of Dr. Dennis Otuaro as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
In a letter addressed to President Tinubu on Thursday, Emsi described the calls as misguided, saying Otuaro’s antecedents as a contributor to the peaceful advancement of the Niger Delta as a justification for his appointment.
Continuing, Emsi said;
“Your Excellency, president Bola Ahmed tinubu, I write to you with utmost respect concerning the recent call by the so called faceless groups, demanding the cancellation of Dr Dennis burutu otuaro appointment as sole administrator of presidential Amnesty programme.

“This demand, purportedly made by the faceless group, is misguided and fails to recognize Dr Otuaro’s exceptional ualifications and wide experience in peacebuilding efforts within Niger delta region.
“As you too are well aware, from the inception of the programme, Delta State has not been appointed head of the PAP. President has appointed the most trusted and qualified person in Otuaro.
“Without mincing words, Dr. Otuaro has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the people of Niger Delta throughout his career.
“Before now, I was among those who agitated for Otuaro’s appointment for an opportunity to leverage his skills and knowledge to drive positive change and address the region longstanding challenges.
“I implore you Mr president to disregard these misguided calls and maintain confidence in your eminently qualified appointee.
“Thank you Mr president for your judicious consideration of this matter, I have full faith in your leadership and Dr. Dennis ability to change the narratives of the programme.”
