A political economist, Pat Utomi, has revealed how former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, cancelled a contract between the state government and him, leading to a huge financial loss.
Utomi alleged that Amosun’s action caused him to suffer and lose investors. He claimed that Amosun stopped all BOT agreements on being sworn in, including his own.

“I had leased OPIC land in Lagos in a BOT agreement under Gov Daniel. Amosun stopped all such on being sworn in,” Utomi said.
Utomi also stated that he met with Amosun over the issue, but the governor failed to resolve it. He claimed that Amosun asked him to make a request for a refund of what he paid, despite investing N200m in addition to the lease amount.
Utomi lost his South African partners and had to struggle to pay off loans. He accused Amosun of violating contract terms, leading to the seizure of presidential jets in Europe.
“The Chinese were not the only victims. One prominent Ogun indigene allegedly committed suicide with similar Amosun action. I too was a victim,” Utomi said.
