Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Wizkid recently revealed that if music hadn’t panned out, he would have pursued a career in football. The Nigerian icon spoke about his deep passion for the sport and the respect he has for the discipline required to succeed in it.
Wizkid, who was once part of his school’s football team, admitted that his impatience and dislike for early morning training sessions ultimately led him to focus on music instead.
“If I wasn’t doing music, I would be playing football. I play really well; I used to be on my school team,” he shared.

Despite shifting his focus to music, Wizkid’s admiration for football remains strong. He also touched on his unconventional approach to security, explaining that he prefers not to travel with bodyguards, relying instead on his close-knit management team, whom he considers family.
