The Lagos State House of Assembly has condemned the murder of Prince Kazeem Ademola Akinloye, son of the Ojomu of Ajiran land, Oba Tijani Akinloye.

The prince was shot and stabbed to death on August 26, 2024, along Chevron Drive in Lekki, Lagos.

“We condemn this gruesome murder in the strongest terms,” said Majority Leader Hon. Noheem Adams.

The lawmakers observed a minute silence in honor of the deceased and resolved to send a letter of condolence to the Ojomu royal family.

“This is one too many,” said Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Ademola Richard Kasunmu. “We need to ensure that justice is served and the family gets the closure they deserve.”

“The government has a responsibility to protect lives and property,” said Hon. Adewale Temitope. “We need to empower our security agencies to do their job effectively.”

The House urged the Lagos command of the Nigeria Police to provide security at the palace to avoid intimidation of people there.

“We will not tolerate this kind of violence in our state,” said Deputy Speaker Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda. “We will do everything in our power to ensure that justice is served.”
