13-Year-Old Schoolgirl Kills Teachers, Other to Become 'Celebrity | Daily Report Nigeria

A 13-year-old schoolgirl in the United Kingdom (UK) has reportedly stabbed two teachers and a classmate with a fishing knife to gain celebrity status.

The girl, who cannot be named due to her age, is said to have smuggled her father’s fishing the knife into school with the intention of killing the assistant head teacher, 48-year-old Fiona Elias.

She allegedly stabbed Elias and special needs teacher 53-year-old Liz Hopkin, who tried to intervene, before running to another part of the school and stabbing a female classmate.

The girl was arrested and made several disturbing comments to police, including asking if the victims were dead and saying “that’s one way to be a celebrity.”

She also wrote notes about burning and cutting people, which were found in her bedroom.

The trial, which is ongoing, has heard that the girl had previously taken a knife into school and had been searched every morning.

Her father and the school had checked her bag for knives every day, but on the morning of the attack, she managed to bring the fishing knife into school.

Also, the court has been shown harrowing CCTV footage of the attack, which shows the girl stabbing the two teachers in a walkway outside the school’s lower hall.

The girl denies three charges of attempted murder but has admitted three charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing a bladed article.

Prosecutor William Hughes KC said:

In the rear of a police car she made a number of significant comments.

“Among them she said: ‘I suppose things like this don’t happen very often. Are they dead?’

” ‘I’m pretty sure this is going to be on the news so more eyes will be looking at me. That’s one way to be a celebrity.’ ”
