Renowned Nollywood actress Funke Akindele and singer Mr. Eazi took to social media to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, sharing uplifting messages despite the economic challenges facing the country.

Funke Akindele, in a heartfelt post on Instagram, expressed her hopes for a brighter future for Nigeria. She reflected on her success within the country and her commitment to staying despite the difficulties many face.

She wrote, “I pray that this country will be great, yes! We keep saying it will be great. It will be great because this is where I earn a living, this is where I am called ‘gbogbo bigs girl,’ this is where I make all the money to afford all the designer bags and clothes, and this is where I make the money to empower a lot of people. For me, I will not japa, I will remain in Nigeria. Nigeria go better.”

Similarly, Mr. Eazi shared his thoughts on his X (formerly Twitter) account, focusing on the strength of the Nigerian people. He wrote, “Celebrating the strength, resilience, and energy of all citizens. Hoping for a greater future! #nigeriaindependence.”

Both stars used the occasion to encourage optimism and faith in a better future for Nigeria, despite the current hardships.
