Yet another ghastly road accident has occurred, claiming no fewer than ten lives.

According to reports, the accident, which happened along the Ohafia-Bende-Umuahia road in Abia State, occured after a fully loaded truck vehicle fell on a sienna space bus on Sunday, December 22.

The truck, which was loaded with chippings was said to have been descending down a hill when it suffered a brake failure, while also falling on the bus, and trapping uta occupants.

Confirming the incident, an eyewitness said;

Unfortunately, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it struck the car which was coming from the opposite direction and fell on it,” 

While blaming the accident on the bad road, he added that the victims were trapped under the weight of the truck for hours as rescue weren’t forth coming.

How come the federal government has failed to rehabilitate the road over the years?” he queried.
