Kemi Badenoch, the UK Conservative party leader, has expressed her desire to prevent Britain from becoming like Nigeria, a country she believes is struggling due to poor governance.

In her first speech of the year, Badenoch explained her push for “real conservatism” that guarantees a “better, richer and safer” tomorrow for the younger generation of Brits.

“Why this matters so much to me is because I know what it is like to have something and lose it. I don’t want Britain to lose what it has,” said Badenoch.

She shared her personal experience of growing up in Nigeria, where her relatively wealthy family became poorer due to inflation and bad governance.

Badenoch narrated how she migrated to the UK at age 16 with her father’s last £100 and expressed her desire to prevent the UK from becoming a country like Nigeria.
