Zimbabwean President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, has promised to give the Zimbabwe national football team, known as the Warriors, a reward of $150,000 if they win their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match.

This financial incentive is meant to motivate the team to perform well in their crucial qualifiers against Nigeria as part of their efforts to qualify for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the same generous bonus is on the table if they manage to win against the Benin Republic.

ZIFA Confirms Presidential Pledge

Nqobile Magwizi, the president of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), shared the news about this offer but didn’t specify whether the money is coming from Mnangagwa’s own pocket or from government funds.

“This support highlights the government’s steadfast commitment to nurturing football in Zimbabwe and backing the Warriors as they aim for World Cup qualification,” Magwizi remarked.
