  • Martin Perez, from Buenos Aires, broke the Guinness World Record by visiting 152 pubs in 24 hours, surpassing the previous record of 120.
  • His journey involved drinking at each pub, with beverages meeting the 125 ml minimum, and was carefully documented with notaries and rotating witnesses.
  • Guinness confirmed the record on June 20, calling it a mix of endurance, patriotism, and celebration of Buenos Aires nightlife.

Martin Perez, a native of Buenos Aires, has etched his name in the Guinness World Records after visiting an astonishing 152 pubs within 24 hours, surpassing the previous benchmark and showcasing his love for his hometown’s vibrant nightlife.

Kicking off his ambitious journey at 7:00 p.m. on March 14 and concluding exactly a day later, Perez navigated his way through the city’s buzzing districts dressed in a black vest emblazoned with “I love BA (Buenos Aires).”

His mission: to spotlight the energy and charm of Argentina’s capital — and to break the record for most pubs visited in 24 hours by an individual.

Guinness World Records officially confirmed his feat on Friday, June 20, 2025, stating on its website, “Congratulations, Martin — cheers to a record that’s truly hard to top.”

Reflecting on his achievement, Martin said, “This record attempt was a personal tribute to the city I love and where I was born and still live. I believe Buenos Aires is one of the most exciting cities in the world, with an outstanding gastronomic and nightlife culture. I saw this challenge as a unique way to show the world how vibrant and extraordinary my city is.”

The previous title holder, David Clarkson from Sydney, had set the record at 120 pubs — a number Martin comfortably exceeded. Although Guinness rules don’t require participants to consume alcohol, each beverage must meet the minimum volume of 125 ml.

Perez meticulously mapped out his plan, making stops in neighborhoods like Recoleta, San Telmo, Colegiales, Palermo Soho, Belgrano, and finally Núñez, where he had his 152nd drink. To ensure everything was documented, his strategy included assistance from a car service, official notaries, and a team of rotating witnesses working in four-hour shifts.

Among those supporting the effort was Yamil Santoro, Deputy of the City of Buenos Aires, who joined in to champion local culture and encourage Perez along the way.

Guinness noted that Martin’s success was a “remarkable blend of endurance, patriotism, and Buenos Aires nightlife spirit” — and undoubtedly, one for the books.
