Troops Rescue Six Kidnapped Children In Katsina After Gun Battle With Gunmen

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working alongside police operatives and community watch groups, have successfully rescued six abducted children in Gidan Maga village, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident took place on Monday when armed men stormed the village in a bid to kidnap residents.

Security forces swiftly engaged the attackers in a gun duel, compelling them to abandon the victims and retreat into Naalma Forest.

The rescued children were identified as Abdulhakim Rilwanu, 12; Zinatu Mansir, 10; Ado Sani, 9; Sani Umar, 10; Yusuf Umar, 10; and Jamilu Nasiru, 11, all from Gidan Maga.

Authorities confirmed that the children were rescued unharmed and reunited with their families, while security personnel have intensified search operations within the forest to track down the fleeing assailants.

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have apprehended a four-man gang notorious for dispossessing tricycle operators and unsuspecting residents of their mobile phones and other valuables.

The suspects were nabbed in the early hours of Monday, August 25, 2025, during a night patrol by the Rapid Response Squad, Akwuzu, along the Agu Awka/Ifite Awka axis.
