Pastor Jerry Eze, the founder of Streams of Joy International and convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has opened up about the doubts he faced after leaving his career in the corporate sector to pursue full-time ministry.
Speaking during his recent appearance at the WithChude Live event, the 42-year-old cleric revealed that just a month after resigning from his job, he questioned whether he had truly heard God’s call.
“I remembered one month after I had resigned. I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life. You read Bible. You pray. I felt like can God really make me jobless because I love to do something,” he recounted.

Before stepping into ministry, Eze worked on HIV/AIDS-related communication projects with reputable organisations like the World Bank and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Reflecting on that uncertain season, Eze shared that he later understood it to be a critical time of preparation—a divine process that shaped the thriving ministry he now leads.
“But I knew that that was the time of being set apart for preparation for what the world is witnessing right now,” he said.
Eze explained that he chose to share his personal journey to inspire and encourage those who may be going through their own challenging transitions.
“If you have been tempted, someone wants to know how tempted were you. If you ever tried to give up, someone wants to know how did you try to give up. We are just part of the big picture that God is creating,” he added.
