The incident occurred late at night after hours of intense cooking, just as a crane was deployed to hoist the pot onto a scale for Guinness verification.
The pot, strained by its own weight, suddenly gave way mid-lift, halting the weighing and sending spectators into panic. Security and organisers quickly moved in as the crane operator was ordered to stop the process to avoid further damage or injuries.

A viral video of the collapse has since spread across social media, fuelling questions over whether the record submission can still stand, since Guinness verification depends on confirmed measurement of the cooked rice.
The setback overshadowed what had been a smooth and widely celebrated cooking marathon, now clouded by uncertainty over its official outcome.
While supporters remain hopeful for validation, the collapsed pot leaves organisers and fans waiting anxiously for Guinness confirmation.
