The Gunners returned from the international break determined to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at Liverpool, and they set the tone early at the Emirates Stadium.
Martin Zubimendi volleyed in the opener before the break to give Arsenal control.
Immediately after the restart, Eberechi Eze fed Viktor Gyokeres, who finished calmly to double Arsenal’s advantage and effectively put the game out of reach for Forest.
Later, Zubimendi headed home his second from Leandro Trossard’s cross as Mikel Arteta’s side recorded another big home victory.
The result takes Arsenal to the summit with nine points from four fixtures.
Meanwhile, Liverpool can reclaim top spot on Sunday if they beat Burnley.

Arsenal looked sharper in possession, quicker to press and more clinical in the final third.
Consequently, Forest rarely threatened and the Gunners controlled the match from start to finish.
The English Premier League table will be closely watched in the coming weeks.
For fans and neutrals alike, this win underlines Arsenal’s title credentials and gives Arteta plenty to build on as the season moves on.
