Just days before the Lagos parade, the team had been hosted at a grand reception in Abuja by President Bola Tinubu.
In honour of their achievement, each player was awarded a generous $100,000, while the 11-man technical crew received $50,000 each, along with three-bedroom apartments.
The President also bestowed on the entire squad the prestigious national title of Officer of the Order of the Niger.
The Super Falcons’ latest victory marks a record-extending 10th continental title, cementing their dominance in African women’s football.
The team showed incredible grit and character in the final, coming from two goals down to snatch the win through second-half strikes from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini.
Their individual brilliance didn’t go unnoticed either.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade was crowned Player of the Tournament, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie earned the Best Goalkeeper award, and coach Justine Madugu was named Best Coach of the tournament.
