American music star Justin Timberlake has opened up about a personal health challenge, revealing he was diagnosed with Lyme disease while on his recent world tour.
The singer shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, marking the first time he has spoken publicly about the illness. He explained that the disease, which is spread through tick bites, left him dealing with persistent fatigue, nerve pain, and moments of extreme physical discomfort.

Timberlake said the diagnosis came during the demanding two-year tour, and although it was difficult, it finally gave him clarity about the symptoms he had been quietly battling.
“I kept performing even when my body was telling me to stop,” he wrote. “This has been one of the most mentally and physically testing periods of my life.”
Lyme disease is caused by a bacterial infection that can affect several organs in the body, including the brain, joints, and heart. In many cases, symptoms can linger for months or even years without proper treatment.
The Grammy-winning artist said he chose to keep his health condition private until now, but felt it was important to speak out—not for sympathy, but to raise awareness and stand in solidarity with others who are dealing with chronic illnesses.
“I’ve always been a private person,” he noted, “but I think being honest about these things can help others feel seen and understood.”
Despite the challenges, Timberlake expressed gratitude for his fans and support system, saying their encouragement helped him push through some of his toughest days on tour.
