Jorge Costa suffered a cardiac arrest at Porto’s training ground and died aged 53.

He served as the club’s director of professional football at the time.

Teammate Fernando Couto nicknamed him “Animal” for his fearless style.
Costa then led Porto to the UEFA Cup in 2003 and the Champions League in 2004.
He made 383 appearances for the club and won 50 caps for Portugal.
FC Porto honored him:

Meanwhile, Charlton Athletic said:
