Delta APC Acting Chairman Shot Dead in Targeted Attack

The acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Felix Ese Idisi, has been shot dead.

Idisi was reportedly attacked and killed by gunmen on Sunday. Details surrounding the motive of the killing were still unclear at the time of filing this report.

Reacting to the incident, former Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, condemned the killing, describing it as a barbaric assault on the democratic process in Delta State. In a statement released on his Facebook page, he said the attack must not go unpunished.

He urged the Delta State Commissioner of Police and the Inspector-General of Police to launch a full-scale investigation and bring all perpetrators to justice. According to him, those responsible had previously boasted about eliminating political opponents in the area and must be arrested, prosecuted and punished.

Omo-Agege stressed that the APC in Delta State would not be intimidated by violence or lawlessness, noting that party members would continue working to promote peace and uphold the rule of law.

He extended condolences to the family of the deceased, his associates, and the APC community in Ethiope East LGA, assuring them that justice would eventually prevail.
