Access Bank Plc announced on Sunday evening it had resorted to refund all stamp duty charges between February and April to it’s customers nationwide.
Social media was agog with many calling out the mainstream bank on what they described as excess and unwarranted deductions from their bank accounts.
However, the bank has retraced it’s earlier decision to implement the stamp duty charges between February and April.
The bank through a statement on Sunday, announced the reversal of all stamp duty charges to all customers, while offering to pay the charges on behalf of it’s customers nationwide to the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The bank emphatically stated it understood the tough times and effects as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, hence the reversal decision.
