Mission to Portugal to resume following standard aviation protocols
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has clarified that its C-130 aircraft, which landed in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso on Monday, did so as a precautionary measure due to a technical concern, and not as a violation of Burkina Faso’s airspace.
In a statement on Tuesday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF Director of Public Relations, said the crew observed the technical issue mid-flight and followed standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols. The aircraft was on a ferry mission to Portugal when the precautionary landing became necessary.

Ejodame also addressed earlier reports suggesting that the Nigerian crew had been detained.
He confirmed that the crew members are safe and have been treated cordially by the host authorities. Plans are underway for the aircraft to continue its original mission to Portugal.
The NAF reiterated its commitment to operational safety and strict adherence to international standards, assuring the public that all personnel are protected while fulfilling their constitutional duties.
