A community source said the attackers struck under the cover of darkness, firing sporadically and forcing residents to flee their homes in fear.

According to him, Kahugu nation has long been known as a peaceful area that does not engage in communal violence or attacks on neighbouring communities.

“This violence is shocking. Bundu-Kahugu has always lived in peace with others,” he added.

Residents have appealed to the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to urgently deploy personnel to protect lives and property.

As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, Mansir Hussaini, could not be reached for comment.

The attack comes amid growing concerns over rising insecurity in Nigeria, marked by repeated incidents involving bandits, kidnappers, and armed groups across several states.
