Ex-boxer Beats Wife to Coma Over TV Remote

Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a 56-year-old ex-boxer, Moses Olapade, for punching his wife into a coma.

It was gathered that Olopade, who is also a truck driver, allegedly pounced on his wife for refusing to hand over a television remote control to him.

The incident occurred at their residence, No. 9, Odama Street in the Oke-Aro area of Akure in Ondo State.

It was said that Olopade returned from a journey on the day of the incident and wanted to watch a program on the television.

He reportedly asked his 44-year-old wife to hand over the TV remote to him but she refused.

Olopade, out of anger, beat her until she fell down and became unconscious.

It took the timely intervention of neighbors to save the woman, adding that “the children ran out screaming for help” before she was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The woman was found lying unconscious by neighbors who rushed her to the hospital.

“The matter was reported to leaders of the community, who called the police and arrested Olapade”, the neighbor said.
