Baba-Ahmed added that his relationship with Obi remains cordial, stating that Obi is welcome back to the LP if the ADC does not grant him the presidential ticket.
On his own political ambitions, Baba-Ahmed reiterated his intention to contest for the presidency, but said he has not formally declared his candidacy, noting that it will follow INEC timelines and party procedures.
He also called on Atiku Abubakar to step aside ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasizing the need for party unity and strategic leadership within the LP.
