Insecurity in Nigeria could end with Tompolo’s experience, says Bebenimibo
A Delta State-based business and community leader, Chief Simeon Bebenimibo, has suggested that appointing High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence would significantly address the country’s growing insecurity.
Bebenimibo, a political scientist, philanthropist and security expert, made the call in Warri on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He is also the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bibobobra Global Resources Limited, GMD of OML 42 Surveillance Services, and Managing Director of Simbra Hotels and Suites.

He anchored his argument on what he described as the proven achievements of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, led by Tompolo, in protecting Nigeria’s oil and gas assets across the Niger Delta.
According to him, the same strategic approach that curbed oil theft, pipeline vandalism and environmental pollution could be replicated at the national level if Tompolo is entrusted with overseeing Nigeria’s defence architecture.

“The day the Federal Government realises and appoints High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, as Nigeria’s defence minister, that is the day insecurity in this country will come to an end,” Bebenimibo said.
He claimed that before Tantita’s engagement, Nigeria’s oil production had dropped to below one million barrels per day due to widespread theft. However, since the firm began operations, output reportedly rose to over 1.8 million barrels per day, leading to a drastic reduction in oil losses and an estimated annual revenue recovery of about eight billion dollars.
Bebenimibo further noted that Tompolo’s leadership had earned national and industry recognition, stressing that security requires integrity, vision and practical experience rather than politics.
Beyond oil infrastructure protection, he also highlighted Tantita’s impact in youth employment, community empowerment and corporate social responsibility initiatives across the Niger Delta.
He concluded by urging Nigerians and the Federal Government to prioritise competence over sentiment, describing Tompolo as a patriotic figure whose track record, in his view, speaks clearly to his capacity to tackle insecurity nationwide.
