In a statement issued on Thursday by the Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps disclosed that 31 personnel were dismissed for desertion, five for scandalous behaviour, and seven for patrol-related misconduct.

The Corps described the action as a clear demonstration of its zero-tolerance policy toward indiscipline and ethical violations within its ranks.
“The FRSC badge is a symbol of honour and responsibility. Any officer who violates the standards of the institution will face the full weight of the Corps’ disciplinary machinery,” the statement read.
Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, said the decision reflects the Corps’ commitment to professionalism and institutional integrity.
According to him, desertion constitutes a serious breach of service oath, particularly in a safety-critical organisation tasked with protecting millions of road users daily.
He added that scandalous behaviour and patrol misconduct undermine public trust and contradict the values of discipline, transparency and service excellence upheld by the Corps.
Mohammed assured Nigerians that the FRSC would intensify internal monitoring mechanisms, strengthen supervisory frameworks and promote ethical reorientation across commands nationwide.
He urged members of the public to continue supporting the Corps in its mandate of ensuring safer roads across the country.
