President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Taiwo Oyedele, a fiscal policy expert, as Minister of State for Finance and transmitted his name to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

The development was disclosed in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

As part of the reshuffle, Doris Anite-Uzoka has been reassigned as Minister of State in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.

Oyedele, a tax and public finance specialist from Ondo State, previously chaired the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led efforts to review and restructure Nigeria’s tax framework.

An economist and chartered accountant, he built much of his career at PwC, rising to senior leadership roles in fiscal policy and tax advisory across Africa.

He also serves as a professor at Babcock University and as a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School, with academic training in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, alongside executive education at global policy and leadership institutions.
