Acting Regional Manager (North Central) of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Ahmadu Danjuma, disclosed this in Abuja, noting that the system would integrate multiple screening processes into a single, centralised checkpoint.
He explained that the approach would improve efficiency, eliminate duplication, and strengthen security oversight across airports.

Danjuma added that the authority had intensified surveillance through increased patrols, deployment of additional personnel, and installation of advanced equipment, including X-ray and L3 scanning machines.
“We have constant patrols along our perimeter fences… to assure the public that the airports are safe and secure,” he said, stressing that no major security breaches had been recorded in recent times.
He further revealed that aviation security personnel have been authorised to bear arms to enhance response capacity.
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has also made the Basic STP123 AVSEC course mandatory for all aviation security staff, equipping them with skills in threat detection, screening procedures, and emergency response.
Danjuma said the reforms reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening aviation security through collaboration, advanced technology, and improved personnel training in line with global standards.
He reassured passengers of safe and efficient airport operations nationwide.
