Sunday Igboho Arrives Court For Trial

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has arrived at Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, for trial.

Recall that Igboho was arrested on Monday night by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou.

He is likely to be tried for immigration-related offences.

The activist was arrested alongside his wife, Ropo, while the couple were about to catch a flight billed for Germany.

“He (Igboho) was arrested in Cotonou on Monday night while he tried to travel. He was already at the airport with a passport. The immigration officers suspected the passport and so they stopped him. In the process, they discovered he was the one,” a source said.

Several other Yoruba supporters of the arrested activist were seen around the court premises on Thursday afternoon.
